The Horus project: AI-agent enhanced crowdsourcing for global OCT biomarker atlas

Redefining Eye Health Research with AI-Enhanced Crowdsourcing

Background

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an essential imaging modality in ophthalmology, providing insights into retinal structure. However, the lack of standardized biomarkers and comprehensive analysis limits its potential in clinical practice and research. The Horus Project aims to bridge this gap by creating the largest global OCT biomarker atlas through AI-agent enhanced annotation and crowdsourced collaboration.

Inspired by Prof. Fei-Fei Li's ImageNet initiative, we envision a global platform where ophthalmologists and medical students collectively contribute to annotating and standardizing OCT biomarkers, driving progress in ophthalmic research and practice.
